EVENT DESCRIPTION: Founded by the Alpharetta Velo (later Roswell Velo) in 2002 with leadership from Terry Michelitch and Chris Merrill, the 12th Annual Historic Roswell Criterium has established itself as one of the largest pro/am criteriums in the Southeast.

For the first time in 12 years, the Historic Roswell Criterium will introduce a new race course. The fast, flat criterium loop will be extended to 1.2 miles in length, now including Heart of Roswell Park as the southern-most turn of the four-turn race route. Riders will race counter-clockwise and can reach speeds of up to 44 miles per hour. The Pro/1/2/3 Women’s race begins at 3:55 PM, followed by the Pro/1 Men’s race at 6:00 PM.

April 28th will kick off with the Roswell Mayor’s Ride, a recreational bike ride to showcase the City of Roswell. Organized by Bike Roswell!, the ride is suitable for all ages and abilities and a perfect way to begin the day! The schedule for events for spectators and athletes will also include a kids bicycle rodeo, nine other bicycle races, Honcrief Hearing & Air Kids’ Zone, Vendor Village and Expo, and two new Belgium Beer Gardens.
